Benjamin was born in Waltham, Massachusetts and raised in Weston, where he attended Weston Public Schools, graduating in 1993.   Benjamin, the son of two trial attorneys, was taught at an early age to pursue social and economic justice.

After graduating from Weston High School, Benjamin attended Suffolk University where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology and subsequently Brandeis University.  He then earned his Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Heller School of Social Policy and Management in health care policy and management.   It was during his time as an undergrad that Benjamin had the opportunity to intern for Senator Edward M. Kennedy.  From the moment he entered the the Senator’s office, Benjamin knew he wanted to dedicate his life to public service.

Since graduating from Suffolk University, Benjamin has had nearly two decades of experience working with state and local governments, earning a reputation as a fiscally prudent manager.   While working for Office of the State Auditor, Benjamin led audits reviewing various state agencies throughout the Commonwealth.  Most recently, Benjamin has worked at the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, where he is responsible for key budget management decisions.

Throughout his career, Benjamin has always taken pride in making the Commonwealth of Massachusetts a better place to live.   Whether it is the attention to detail to his work or seeking common ground on pressing issues, Benjamin believes in coming together for the greater good of our community.

Benjamin has a tremendous sense of pride when it comes to living in Acton.  Whether it is volunteering in the local food pantry to taking leadership roles at his local synagogue, Benjamin believes in giving back to our community.  Currently, he serves as a member of the Acton 2020 Committee, Progressive Massachusetts (Three Rivers Affinities Group), Indivisible Massachusetts (Acton), Acton Town Democratic Committee and is a member of the Board of Directors for Congregation Beth Elohim.

Benjamin, his wife Doronit and his son Aron, currently reside on Concord Road in Acton.
